Vanilla Glaze

1/3 c butter, melted
2 c powdered sugar
1 ½ tsp vanilla
2 to 4 Tbsp hot water

Mix together melted butter, powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in hot water, 1 Tbsp at a time, until smooth and consistency of thick syrup.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened
¼ c margarine, softened
2 tsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
4 c powdered sugar

Beat cream cheese, butter, milk and vanilla in medium bowl with electric mixer on low speed until smooth. Gradually beat in powdered sugar on low speed, 1 cup at a time, until smooth and spreadable. Frosts one 13 x 9 inch cake generously, or fills and frosts one 8- or 9-inch two-layer cake.

Refrigerate any remaining frosting.

(Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting: Add 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled, with the butter.)

3 c powdered sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 ½ tsp vanilla
1 to 2 Tbsp milk

Mix powdered sugar and butter in medium bowl. Stir in vanilla and milk. Beat until smooth and spreadable. Frosts one 13 x 9 inch cake or fills and frosts on 8- or 9-inch two-layer cake.

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

3 c powdered sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
3 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
2 to 3 Tbsp milk

Mix all ingredients except milk in medium bowl. Stir in milk until smooth and spreadable. Frosts one 13 x 9 cake generously, or fills and frosts on 8- or 9-inch two-layer cake.
