Baked Custard

3 large eggs, slightly beaten
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Dash of salt
2 ½ c very warm milk
Ground nutmeg

Heat oven to 350.

Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt in medium bowl. Gradually stir in milk. Pour into 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Place the baking dish into a 9 x 13 pan on the oven rack. Pour very hot water into pan to within ½-inch of tops of custard dish.

Bake about 45 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Remove dish from water, and serve custard warm, or refrigerate and serve cold. Immediately refrigerate any remaining dessert.
